Koala 2012 1oz Silver Proof Coin - The Perth Mint Australia containing an Authentic Australian Opal


The first release in this stunning new series depicts the koala, perhaps Australia’s most beloved and iconic animal. Like many Australian mammals, this unique creature is nocturnal and can sleep for approximately 18 hours a day. This idea was the inspiration behind the design concept.

Perth Mint ENDANGERED AND EXTINCT 2012 TASMANIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE 1OZ SILVER PROOF COIN




The second coin in the Endangered and Extinct series is the Tasmanian Wedge-Tailed Eagle, a huge bird that stands one metre tall and has a wingspan roughly twice its height. Separated for thousands of years from its mainland counterparts, it now faces a number of threats, including the loss of suitable habitat. As a result, it is estimated that no more than 130 pairs are successfully breeding each year.

The Perth Mint will offically launch the Lunar Series 2012 year of the Dragon Silver and Gold bullion, dates are as follows:

Anticipation surrounding these Lunar Dragon coins has been at fever-pitch for some months. As a result of the expected popularity of some coins, the following restrictions apply to purchases made via www.perthmintbullion.com or in person at the Bullion Desk in The Perth Mint Shop.

•1oz Lunar Dragon silver bullion coin (max. mintage 300,000) – No more than 20 coins per customer.
