  • Celebrating the auspicious Year of the Dragon, this 2012 Typeset Collection from the annual Australian Lunar Silver Coins Series II is a prestigious and exceptionally limited offering from The Perth Mint.

The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese lunar dragon include 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000 and 2012. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be confident, enterprising, independent, self-assured, brave and passionate.

Four 99.9% Pure Silver 1oz Coins

Each coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver and finished in proof, specimen, or bullion quality. The coins demonstrate a stunning range of popular numismatic treatments sought-after by many collectors and gift buyers.

Proof, Gilded, Bullion and Coloured Finishes

Each coin’s reverse depicts a dragon with a representation of a pearl. The Chinese character for ‘dragon’ and the inscription YEAR OF THE DRAGON also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

The delicately frosted design on the silver proof coin appears on a mirror-like polished table.
The specimen quality gilded coin highlights the dragon in 24-carat gold.
The proof quality coloured coin depicts the dragon in red as the colour represents success, good luck and prosperity.
The shiny design on the bullion coin appears on a frosted table.
    Australian Legal Tender

Issued as Australian legal tender, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2012 year-date and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse of each coin.

    Extremely Limited Mintage

No more than 1,500 of these collections will be issued by The Perth Mint.

    Numbered Certificate of Authenticity

The Typeset Collection is issued with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

    Presentation Display Packaging

The Typeset Collection is housed in a contemporary red and black display case and illustrated shipper.
